Sustainability as Material, January 2027
Victor Pedrosa, Director/Founder Taipa Lab

Podcast episode and Member Seminar with Victor Pedrosa (London).

Members have a chance to meet the Podcast Guest, ask questions, deep dive into their practice and discuss ideas with leading ceramic professionals.

Victor studied chemistry and physics, and a PhD in computational neuroscience, before bringing that scientific understanding of system and loops to work with clay recovered from London building sites.

His newest endeavour, Taipa Lab is the next step, a new material lab and, increasingly, a design lab, working out of Park Royal in London, one of Europe’s largest industrial estates. Taipa lab is leading research into the use of waste streams such as London construction clay, wood ash, glass cutting waste, marble and stone dust, coffee grounds, concrete washout water, and reinforcing fibres including recycled plastic, human hair, and textile offcuts.

The tests, recipes, and results are published as open research, so others can read them, repeat them, and build on them.
